A cantora Taylor Swift, 23 anos, foi a grande vencedora do Billboard Awards 2013, que aconteceu ontem (19), no MGM de Las Vegas, nos EUA. Taylor ganhou oito dos onze prêmios aos quais foi indicada, entre eles o de Melhor Artista do Ano. O álbum Red foi escolhido como Melhor do Ano, concorrendo com Adele, Mumford & Sons e One Direction.

A cantora levou também os prêmios de Melhor Canção Country por 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together', Melhor Artista Country, Melhor Artista em formato digital, Melhor Artista da Billboard, Melhor Intérprete Feminina e Melhor da Billboard com o disco Red.

A Melhor Canção do "Top Hot 100" foi 'Somebody That I Used to Know', de Gotye, que também levou os prêmios de Melhor Canção de Rádio reproduzida na Internet e Melhor Canção Rock. Rihanna venceu em quatro categorias com 'Unapologetic', incluindo Melhor Álbum e Melhor Canção.

Justin Bieber levou três prêmios para casa, entre eles o de Melhor Artista Masculino, o prêmio de popularidade nas redes sociais e Milestone, votado pelos fãs, no qual concorria com Taylor Swift e Bruno Mars.

Madonna foi reconhecida e a sua MDNA Tour foi premiada como melhor turnê, enquanto o sul-coreano Psy de 'Gangnam Style' levou a melhor no Videoclip Mais Reproduzido na Internet. A cerimônia terminou com o prêmio Ícone atribuído a Prince, em reconhecimento pela sua carreira. O prémio foi apresentado pelas cantoras Erykah Badu e Janelle Monae, antes da performance do próprio Prince.
